The purpose of Art Club is to encourage the development of students’ artistic skills and talents through various projects during the school year. Questions? Contact Mr. Corriveau at PCorriveau@barrington220.org. 

Come explore the various cultures from the largest continent in the world! Learn and play ping-pong, practice Taiji, watch Anime, make and taste Chinese, Japanese and Korean foods, celebrate various cultural holidays like Chinese New Year and the Indian festival of colors, learn arts and crafts like origami and calligraphy, and learn from a community of Asian speakers. The purpose of Club Latino is to promote a cultural experience through the Latino community during the school year. All students are invited to come and experience more of the rich culture through school events, projects, discussions, speakers, and even some field trips.

Our goals

To learn and explore different areas of STEM.  We have activities that teach different areas of STEM and build a fun and safe community of technology friends.

Open to all 6th, 7h, & 8th grade students! Students will learn more about various aspects of theatre including acting, musical theatre, set design, props work, costume design, theatrical makeup & more! Through different projects and drama games, students will gain confidence & have fun! We are all about accepting people and learning more about the performing arts.

The Drama Club meets between the Fall Play and Spring Musical.

Open to all students, and this club provides hands-on opportunities to build and launch model rockets, design and race CO2 powered dragsters, compete to design and build the strongest bridge and more! You don't need any background knowledge to join the club.

Auditions

• Step One: Complete the Audition Form no later than 10:00 am on Sunday, August 27. Please be sure to check the tentative rehearsal schedule and list all potential conflicts! 
   
• Step Two: Prepare a one minute monologue that showcases your ability to portray a believable character. Everything you need to know about the monologue is in the “Audition Information and Monologue” document that is linked on the Schoology page and is also linked here.
   
  • Create a video of yourself performing the monologue on your iPad or on a phone.
  • Although memorization helps, you may hold the script if necessary.
  • Please make sure we can see your ENTIRE body in the video!
  • Submit your video recording to the Schoology assignment by 10am on Sunday, August 27. Please be sure to watch it before you submit to make sure that we can see and hear you! The Schoology access code is: 2SK6-X99W-HTFZM
     
• Step Three: Check the Schoology fall play page to see if you need to be present at callbacks on August 28 or 29. The callback list will be posted during the evening on Sunday, August 27. Not all roles will need a callback audition.

Friends and Company is a friendship club for people with and without disabilities. In Friends and Company you will have an opportunity to meet new people and do fun Station activities such as going to sporting events, school musicals and plays, and other fun activities. We meet about once a month as a group. You will also have opportunities to join students and help them participate in other Station clubs and activities such as track, after school in the media center, and at grade level dances.

The Jazz Band is a select group of approximately 20-25 musicians chosen by audition which plays popular, rock, jazz, and big band selections. The organization is comprised of saxes, trumpets, trombones and rhythm section. Performances include middle school concerts and may include other "gigs" such as banquets and community functions.

At BMS-Station the National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding 8th grade middle-level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Five main purposes have guided chapters of NJHS from the beginning: to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; to encourage responsible citizenship, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools. How to Join

NJHS Membership Invitations are sent in September to 8th-grade student candidates via the school G-mail. It will include an invitation along with a link to an application. Parents WILL NOT receive an email. After the application process, welcome letters will be distributed in October.  Membership Invitations are only sent to 8th-grade students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 and higher for the previous school year (Grade 7). Students who become eligible after the first semester of 8th grade will be invited to join in January of the school year.

Snowflake 2023 will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 3:40-6:30 PM. The cost is $30 per student and includes snacks, t-shirt and program materials.

What is Snowflake? 

Snowflake is a unique opportunity for middle school students to come together in an informal setting to teach valuable skills that develop healthy peer relationships, promote responsible decision-making and resist negative peer pressure.

Student Council is a student organization focused on promoting school spirit, providing school activities, and giving support for clubs and other organizations at school. The Student Council's aim is to assist students and teachers in making school more meaningful.

Student Council is open to any 6th, 7th or 8th grade student. There is no membership application-all are welcome. First meeting is at the end of September. Look in announcements for date, time and location.

Station's yearbook serves as a pictorial record of the people and events of each school year. Students are responsible for photography, art work, organization, designing and creating pages for the yearbook. All pages are created with digital software. Yearbook club is a 5 month commitment. Students are encouraged to join athletic teams and other school sponsored events however, if they are going to be absent, students should notify Ms. Strauss preferably by lunch time.
